This weekend at church, one of the pastors who leads our high school groups took the main stage. I always enjoy hearing from the staff who are deeply involved with our young people every week.
At our church, anyone who volunteers with the children's or teen ministry is called a coach. During the sermon, Jake Hancock explained that even if we aren't serving directly in the youth areas, we are all coaches to the next generation.
They chose the word "coaches" because they come alongside our youth, and that's precisely my goal as a life coach: to come alongside you in life. Jake shared an inspiring acronym for what a coach is, and it's brilliant.
C - Connect
As a coach, I strive to create a warm and safe space for you to share your needs and see me as a confidant and supporter. My role is to care deeply about what you're processing and the goals you want to achieve.
O - Own the Circle
I believe in the importance of continuous learning and skill-building. As a coach, I am both a student and a teacher. I not only coach myself but also seek guidance from my own coach to pursue challenges and goals. This helps me bring the best to our sessions.
A - Actively Participate
Engagement is key. I actively participate in our sessions and stay available via text and email for encouragement, celebration, and support as you take steps toward your goals. Your journey is my priority.
C - Challenge
Encouragement is vital, but so are challenges. I am here to gently push you to step outside your comfort zone, strive for something greater, and expand your previously limiting thoughts. Healthy challenges are essential for growth.
H - Help
My help extends beyond our sessions. I provide exercises and mental strength-building activities, share articles and podcasts that may resonate with you, and offer a sounding board for ideas and milestones.
